Core Features & Benefits

Quiet Gasoline 12V Air Heater for Camper Vans and Light-Duty Vehicles

The Webasto Air Top Pro 25 Gasoline 12V Heater Kit with Controller brings efficient parked-vehicle heating to compatible gasoline-powered vans, RVs and work vehicles. Stepless heating from 0.8–2.0 kW (2,730–7,000 BTU/h) helps maintain cabin comfort, while 2.5 kW (8,500 BTU/h) boost mode provides extra heat when the vehicle is cold. Select the Light-Medium Duty Kit with Rheostat Controller (5014436A) or the Webasto MultiControl Kit (5014495A).

Benefits & Everyday Use

  • Designed for gasoline vehicles: A vehicle-fuel-based heating solution for compatible 12V applications.
  • Efficient temperature control: Modulates heat continuously from 0.8 to 2.0 kW instead of using only on/off heating.
  • Quick warm-up: 8,500 BTU/h (2.5 kW) boost for up to 6 hours.
  • Quiet comfort: Redesigned air fan and brushless EC drive help minimize noise in eco operation.
  • Heating at elevation: Automatic altitude adjustment for mountain travel within the stated operating range.
  • Two factory configurations: Choose simple Rheostat control for light-to-medium-duty use or a MultiControl kit with digital display and scheduling.

Who Is This Heater Best For?

The gasoline 12V configuration is intended for customers who use a gasoline-powered vehicle and want a compact, engine-off cabin heating system. Match the heater to your vehicle voltage, fuel system and the intended mounting location; gasoline fuel grade requirements should be confirmed against the latest Webasto North American documentation.

  • Gasoline camper vans and van conversions: Quiet heat for weekend camping, overnight stops and winter travel.
  • Gasoline Class B RVs and compact recreational vehicles: Comfort when parked without relying on engine idle time.
  • Light- and medium-duty gasoline work vehicles: Cabin heating for service, utility and vocational use.
  • Gasoline-powered overland vehicles: Automatic altitude adjustment for high-elevation trips.
  • Specialty and mobile-service vehicles: Heating for operators or crews in suitable installed enclosures.
  • Marine installations where approved: Webasto lists marine among its application markets; confirm configuration and marine-specific installation requirements.

Choose Your Gasoline 12V Factory Kit

Webasto Part Number Factory Kit / Controller Notes
5014436A Gasoline 12V Light-Medium Duty Kit with Rheostat Controller Manufacturer-designated successor to Air Top 2000 STC P/N 5012558B.
5014495A Gasoline 12V Kit with Webasto MultiControl New factory MultiControl configuration for demanding applications.

The two gasoline kits may differ in their included installation components, not just the controller. Confirm the exact ducting, wiring and mounting parts by Webasto part number. A SmarTemp 4.0 factory kit (5014437A) is planned for spring 2027.

Webasto Air Top Pro 25 vs. Air Top 2000 STC

Compared with the previous-generation Air Top 2000 STC, the Air Top Pro 25 expands the low-output operating range, adds a 2.5 kW boost mode and introduces automatic altitude adjustment. The specifications below compare the same fuel and voltage category, not every kit component.

Feature Air Top Pro 25 Air Top 2000 STC
Heating output (continuous) 2,730–7,000 BTU/h (0.8–2.0 kW) 3,400–7,000 BTU/h (1.0–2.0 kW)
Boost mode Up to 8,500 BTU/h (2.5 kW) for 6 hours Not available
Altitude adjustment Automatic; operation up to 5,500 m; maximum heat output up to 3,000 m Manual altitude compensation
Fan/motor drive Brushless EC drive DC drive
Heater size (L × W × H) 321 × 127 × 124 mm 311 × 120 × 121 mm
Mounting & air connections Existing footplate and air inlet/outlet diameters retained Original Air Top 2000 STC interface
Electrical connections Updated heater-side harness and 8-pin connector Older ECU/harness concept; not an identical connection

Air Top 2000 STC Replacement Part Numbers

Webasto identifies 5014436A as the replacement kit for Air Top 2000 STC gasoline 12V Light-Medium Duty P/N 5012558B. Use the cross-reference below to identify the appropriate new-generation family.

Air Top 2000 STC P/N Air Top Pro 25 P/N New kit configuration
5012550A 5014433A Diesel 12V Sleeper Kit with Rheostat Controller
5012558B 5014436A Gasoline 12V Light-Medium Duty Kit with Rheostat Controller
5012553A 5014431A Diesel 24V Kit with Rheostat Controller

Webasto lists MultiControl kits 5014494A (diesel 12V) and 5014495A (gasoline 12V) as new factory configurations rather than assigning them a direct Air Top 2000 STC predecessor part number.

Do not assume that an older gasoline kit's included ducting, wiring or controls are automatically suitable for the newer heater. Compare the part numbers and installation instructions.

FAQs

Will my Webasto heater still keep me warm at high altitudes?

Yes. The Air Top Pro 25 automatically adjusts for altitude and is specified to operate up to approximately 18,045 ft (5,500 m). Webasto states that maximum heating output is available up to approximately 9,843 ft (3,000 m). Above that elevation, the heater can continue operating within its stated range, but peak heat output may be reduced. Actual cabin comfort also depends on outside temperature, insulation and installation.

Can I replace my Webasto Air Top 2000 STC with the new Air Top Pro 25 without modifying my setup?

Not necessarily. Webasto retains the Air Top 2000 STC footplate and air inlet/outlet diameters, which helps with replacement installations. However, the heater body is not exactly the same size: the Air Top Pro 25 measures 321 × 127 × 124 mm, compared with 311 × 120 × 121 mm for the Air Top 2000 STC. The electrical connector, wiring harness arrangement and control interfaces also differ. Plan to check physical clearance, wiring and controller compatibility; do not assume a plug-and-play swap or reuse of every existing component. Follow Webasto installation instructions or consult a qualified installer.

Which controller comes with the gasoline 12V kit?

5014436A is the Light-Medium Duty configuration with Rheostat Controller. 5014495A is the factory kit with Webasto MultiControl, which adds a digital display, instant start and programmable 7-day scheduling. The full contents of the kits should be checked separately.

Can I install this heater in a gasoline camper van?

Yes, provided the van has a compatible 12V system, an approved gasoline fuel supply and sufficient space for a Webasto-compliant installation. Verify the exact fuel grade and required combustion-air, exhaust and duct routing before fitting it.

How is the gasoline version different from the diesel version?

The gasoline 12V model uses gasoline rather than diesel and has a 0.8 kW minimum continuous heat output (versus 0.7 kW for diesel). Both versions reach 2.5 kW in boost mode, but fuel and electrical-system compatibility must match the vehicle.

Does the kit include all ducting and accessories?

Webasto lists distinct Light-Medium Duty and MultiControl factory configurations, but the supplied launch materials do not itemize every component in the new boxes. Confirm the selected kit's contents with Heatso before ordering any additional installation parts.
