  • Eventually Works

I have a 2017 Sprinter 144 4x4. This kit is very handy to avoid having to find other parts as you'll see from other reviews and install videos. One note I tried to find when purchasing and installing this unit that took a while to troubleshoot is that in my case (and probably user error or just typical to priming the pump?) is I had to clear errors and re-start this unit many times before it started working. Maybe 5-6. I would get pump errors (lots of info about this online) so I'd have to clear, then try again. It eventually worked and has since. Also, I already had an aux heater for the cabin which is pretty sweet but uses the aux fuel line typical from the Sprinters. Also something I didn't find a lot of info about. I can confirm, you can split this using a simple adapter (quick connect to a "Y" fuel line out) to go to the espar heater AND the aux heater if you have one already. Works. Once it was rocking, I was amazed how efficient and well it works. I was worried about batter pull but it's incredibly minimal. Could probably run for days on a 200 Watt Battery deep cell (we are running off house battery) but we also have 200 watt solar and alt charging unit that charges house battery as well when running engine. It's quiet and great. Hope some of this info is helpful!

  • A+ Solid Kit for Sprinter!

Kits like this are a bit intimidating at first as they include a bunch of other parts, wires, clamps and fuel adapters that you will not be using. Start laying it out and get a plan and it will all come together. Just follow the linked YouTube video and just connect what you need! I recorded video of my installation and it worked wonderfully! Very happy with this very reliable heater and kit! There is a reducer sleeve bushing thing included that fits the stock Sprinter auxiliary tap perfectly, you do not need to buy additional adapters as many people do. I installed on a 2021 V6 144 High top. Ended up buying Phoenix high temp cable clamp set on Amazon for mounting exhaust components and additional exhaust tubing to route my exhaust across the front cross member and out the driver side behind the mud flap to keep burn hazard and fumes away from the passenger side of the van. Love it!!!

This is my second time purchasing this kit (well new gen) due to my second van conversion. The install is very easy (when you had it before) and the product works great. Highly recommend.

Great item. Installed in 170 sprinter. Works great and keeps us comfortable at 20f Uninsulated. If you have a 170 size van and are not insulating it I’d go with d/5. But overall good product so far that uses little power and fuel. The controller could be a bit more user friendly. Some parts were missing as well for the install
