Nomadic Cooling X2: Rooftop AC for Off-Grid Use
The Nomadic Cooling X2 is a rooftop air conditioner built for off-grid travel. DC powered, it can run on 12V or 24V without a generator.
With a cooling capacity of 8,188 BTU and maximum power draw of 55 amps, it offers high-efficiency performance for camper vans, RVs, and expedition vehicles.
Lightweight, Low-Profile Nomadic Air Conditioner
At 44 lbs and 6.9 inches tall, the Nomadic Cooling X2 is one of the lightest and smallest rooftop AC units available. Its aerodynamic shape minimizes drag, allowing it to be used with solar panels or rooftop gear.
The X2’s compact design fits standard 14" x 14" cutouts. A low center of gravity reduces wind resistance and improves vehicle handling while driving.
Simple Installation with Standard Components
The X2 Nomadic air conditioner is designed for fast, drop-in installation. It comes with all necessary hardware: foam gasket, crossbars, faceplate, remote control, and stainless steel M8 mounting bolts.
A flush-mount faceplate and bundled LCD control panel are included, making it suitable for both DIY and professional installs.
Durable Construction for Mobile Environments
The Nomadic AC is built with powder-coated aluminum and stainless steel, making it tough enough to handle rough roads and resist corrosion. It includes a foam air separator and leveling strip for secure, stable installation.
The electrical system is designed for safe, reliable use in mobile setups, using heavy-duty wiring and protective fusing.
Control Modes and Noise Performance
The Nomadic Cooling X2 system offers four operating modes: ECO, MAX, Auto, and Fan-Only. The ultra-quiet fan operates at ≤60 dBa, reducing cabin noise during sleep or work.
The digital controller provides temperature adjustment and mode selection. The system can keep internal temperatures as low as 54°F, depending on weather conditions and vehicle insulation.
