New range of Go Power! solar products

When you’re going on an off-grid adventure, generating electricity becomes vital. You need to reliably power your fridge, AC, entertainment systems, and other household appliances. More importantly, you need to be able to charge your RV, campervan or boat batteries.

Solar power is a silent, efficient, and eco-friendly option, and a great alternative to fuel generators. Using solar energy is also more cost-effective than paying for plug-in fees at campsites.

We are proud to announce that we are expanding our range of solar products with new solar panels and kits from Go Power! From thin and flexible solar panels that can be applied to any surface, to powerful complete solar systems capable of outputting 3KW of clean energy.

Our new solar panels & solar kits from Go Power!

Go Power! makes high quality solar panels that are low-profile and durable. These panels silently and efficiently convert sunlight to energy for decades without faults.

How many times have you wanted to say, “You know what? I’ve seen this one thing in a magazine before. Let me build it!” You may want to build your own off-grid motorhome, or just want to add some off-grid power to your RV with the perfect solar panel system.

Today, we have a new range of products available that can fit any solar application you have in mind. Whether you’re designing your own home on wheels, or just want to quickly deploy a  200W portable solar system at a campsite or other off-grid location, there’s a solar kit that will fit your needs.

How many Watts of solar energy do I need?

When choosing a solar solution for your RV or campervan, it’s important to understand that it’s not the same as choosing a solar kit for a house. Since an RV isn’t hooked up to the electric grid of your country, you can’t really sell back any of the excess solar energy you generate.

It is considered good practice to choose a solar kit that will supply just as much solar power as you need for daily use of appliances and no more. In most cases, any excess energy you generate won’t go to filling up your batteries to over 100%, it will just be wasted potential.

If you want to really make sure and find out exactly how much power output you need, we highly suggest using the Go Power! Solar calculator. Not only does it take into account the type of your vehicle and battery, but it also calculates how much AC and DC power your appliances draw, and for how long you travel. After filling in all the details, you will be presented your accurate daily and weekly Amp/hour draw, and a personalized solar kit according to your needs.

How to choose a solar panel setup for your RV or boat

The right solar kit for your rig is critical, but choosing just the right equipment can be overwhelming. Once you’ve figured out how much power your setup is using, it’s time to look at the panels themselves. When choosing a good solar panel make sure that it’s made of high-quality materials, is durable, energy efficient, and has good heat tolerance.

Go Power! solar kits include monocrystalline solar panels, which are perfect for off-grid uses like on boats or for powering RVs. For example, the GP-FLEX-200 is a 200 Watt thin, flexible solar panel that’s coated in a layer of waterproof lamination, which makes it ideal for the rigorous conditions of salt water and marine environments.

To really get the most from solar power, the solar panel system should be matched with an inverter. Some inverters do more than just invert DC to AC. An inverter charger can use the power from your solar panels to directly power your appliances or charge your batteries. Or it can work as a transfer switch to supply up to 12,000W of power to your system when connected to a 240V shore power service.

Outstanding benefits of Go Power! solar products

There are numerous and substantial benefits of using solar power. Firstly, it’s incredibly cost-effective. Using a Go Power! solar kit, you can remove all those extra expenses that’d you’d spend when buying generator fuel or paying plug-in fees at campgrounds.

Secondly, solar power is clean and ecologically friendly. In contrast to idling your engine or running a noisy generator, a Go Power solar kit doesn’t burn fuel, doesn’t have any emissions, and keeps your batteries charged. Generating solar power is completely silent as well, so you can fully relax and enjoy the peace and quiet of nature.

A Go Power! solar kit is also very low maintenance. Because solar panels have no moving parts that could break or wear out, there’s very little to fix. Just make sure that the panel is clean and that your system does not have any loose connections.

A variety of connection options are included with the portable solar kits to fit all of your needs - from maintaining your RV or trailer battery while on the road, to trickle charging your car, ATV, or boat battery. Such portable solar modules are perfect for those who don’t want to permanently mount solar to a rooftop.
