GP-FLEX-500 - The largest flexible solar kit from Go Power!
The 500 Watt solar panel kit is the most powerful flexible solar system from Go Power! The solar panels are made out of high-efficiency monocrystalline cells that produce more power per square foot than any other flexible solar panel on the market.
Main benefits of the GP-FLEX-500
-
The solar panels are coated in a waterproof coating that doesn’t restrict the panel’s flexibility and improves aerodynamics and durability.
-
The GP-FLEX-500 can be mounted using adhesive or screws, so no need for custom mounts and bulky frames.
-
Measuring less than 1/8” (3 mm) thick, the solar panel array can be affixed to almost any surface.
-
High-efficiency back-contact solar cells are designed to work significantly better in low-light or overcast weather conditions.
-
5-year power output warranty for the panels, and a 5-year warranty for the MPPT controller.
The 500 Watt Go Power! flexible solar array
The GP FLEX 500 solar panel system is the largest and most powerful flexible solar power solution from GoPower! Measuring at less than ⅛” (3mm) thick, the thin and flexible design keeps the solar panel low-profile. This makes the GP-FLEX-500 more aerodynamic, minimizing the wind force of high-speed driving on your roof-mounted solar solution.
The five powerful solar panels produce enough power to fully utilize an inverter charger. Coupled with a 3000 Watt inverter charger from Go Power!, the GP-FLEX-500 becomes a fully-fledged solar system that can take your motorhome completely off-grid. With an inverter, instead of just charging your batteries, you can use the excess energy from the panels to directly power your AC appliances.
User benefits of the GP-FLEX-500
Thanks to the panel’s versatile and flexible design, it can conform to almost any surface, allowing for various installation options. For example, in this article Roamlab describe how to reliably attach flexible solar panels to your camper using velcro.
Every solar panel in the array is coated in an impermeable lamination. This makes the monocrystalline solar panel fully weather-resistant and perfect for marine applications. The coating doesn’t restrict the panel’s flexibility, so the solar module curves to up to 30 degrees while still being durable.
The 40A MPPT solar controller
When using a multi-panel solar system, it is important that your controller can manage the excess voltage that may occur. An MPPT controller is capable of converting the excess voltage from your solar panels into amperage, and can manage voltage spikes much better.
The included 40A MPPT solar controller also dynamically adjusts to always collect the maximum power output from the solar panels. This means that your batteries will always be charged at the maximum possible rate, no matter the weather.
To improve the lifespan of your battery, the MPPT controller also protects it from overcharging, and prevents reverse flow at night. When your batteries are fully charged, or when the solar panels stop generating power, the controller opens the circuit and disconnects the panels and the batteries.
